Stuart Timmons WeHo@40 LGBTQ History Tour

Screening
West Hollywood's City Council Chambers

625 N San Vicente Blvd
West Hollywood, CA 90069

Join us for a special evening honoring the legacy of historian Stuart Timmons (The Trouble with Harry Hay, GAY L.A.) as part of West Hollywood’s 40th Anniversary and the One Institute’s Circa: Queer Histories Festival.

First created as a walking tour from Timmons’ unfinished manuscript and later reimagined as a live performance for the city’s 30th Anniversary, the project has become a beloved celebration of queer history and community storytelling. This one-night program will feature highlights from the 2021 and 2025 filmed versions, rarely seen archival footage from the original live events, and a presentation about Timmons’ life and work. Produced by Jason Jenn, the evening blends history, performance, and reflection – with a light reception before and after.

A light reception will be held both before and after the screening.
You may think you know WeHo, but certainly not like this! Don’t miss this celebratory cinematic stroll through the sensational, sordid, and surprising LGBTQ history of West Hollywood.

This program is organized by Jason Jenn and is co-presented with the City of West Hollywood as part of Circa: Queer Histories Festival 2025, presented by One Institute and the WeHo 40th Anniversary.
